We are pleased to introduce to the CapitalQ Community, Vee Mutowo.
Vee is a Tax Accountant here at CapitalQ working closely with Pavan and his clients, but also assisting Abhishek and Kapil as required.
Having undertaken the big step of relocating from her beloved homeland of Zimbabwe to study here in Australia in 2014, Vee has since completed her Bachelor of Commerce as well as a Masters of Applied Finance, both at Curtin University!
Luckily for us, despite having options available to her, much like her sisters as discussed below, with the completion of her tertiary studies Vee has chosen to make Australia, and specifically Perth, her permanent home.
And even luckier for us, CapitalQ were able to beat out suitors for Vee’s services and bring her on board during the middle of 2019.
She is now undertaking her professional studies and qualifications, of course in addition to working full time at CapitalQ, with the aim of achieving her Chartered Accountants status over the next 18 months or so.
Of note, Vee was the first new hire at CapitalQ to be required to submit a video explaining why she wishes to join our Team and what she can contribute.
With much trepidation, she has agreed to allow us to share her initial application video.
We think it is a great way to get to know her, and I think you will agree she used the medium to really show she is a genuine and committed individual and someone we are lucky to have come on board.
Keep an eye out for more from Vee, and in the meantime please join us in welcoming her to the CapitalQ Team.

A MUST WATCH FOR JOB SEEKERS! We have posted a Blog post today at capitalq.com.au introducing you all to our newest Team Member, Hillary Mutowo. We requested applicants to submit a 2 minute introductory video, so here is Hillary's (shared with her blessing). We think it is a great way to get to know her, and we are sure you will agree she used the medium really well to show she is a genuine and committed individual and someone we are lucky to have come on board. We have added some of our own overlaid commentary too 🙂 Visit our website to learn more about Hillary and the rest of the CapitalQ Team #welcometotheteam #wearegrowing #futureca #taxaccountant @violalola_
Why jump straight into a Masters you may ask? Well Vee confesses some none too subtle, though entirely good natured, hints from her family of high achievers suggested having completed ‘just’ a Bachelors was no time to call an end to tertiary studies 😉
And she admits to feeling just a little bit of pressure to live up to the standards set by her high achieving parents and four siblings.
Her father, now retired, was the Managing Director for Fidelity Printers & Refinery, the company wholly owned by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and which was responsible for the printing and managing of the Zimbabwe currency. No doubt he has seen some interesting times in this unique role! His career also included time here at our own Perth Mint (which was the beginning of Vee’s love affair with our great city).
Vee’s mother is a business owner, operating Koala Education Services. An education consultancy working closely with universities in Australia and all around the world. Vee actually designed and still manages the website, you can check it out here www.koalaeducationservices.com (The Aussie connection is clearly evident 😊)
And as alluded to above, there are four siblings, all sisters, achieving great things in various parts of the world.
One is a research fellow at Macquarie University in Sydney, one is here in Perth working as an actuary at our own RAC, one is the General Manager at Old Mutual Insurance in Zimbabwe and the other, having called an end to her stock-broking career, is now learning the ropes in the family business.
Oh, and Vee is a budding Youtube star, with her own channel featuring her make-up artistry.
As you can see, Vee has been lucky enough to enjoy an upbringing surrounded by high achievers and it is clearly evident in the way she conducts herself and the intelligence and diligence she brings to her role at CapitalQ.
Outside of work and study, Vee has recently discovered the benefits of hot yoga, as well as some casual tennis. But admittedly, for now, at this stage of her career, there is not a lot of spare time, so check back again in a year or two when she hopes her main professional studies will be done and dusted (at least for a while).
