Our Tax Agent Entity is Changing

UPDATE – March 2021

Commencing as of the 1st of April (no this is not an April Fools joke 🙂 ) any CapitalQ Community Members who remain attached to our old Tax Agent registration will be moved by the ATO to our new Tax Agent entity, CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd as described below.  The bulk changes are expected to be finalised during the week commencing 6 April or thereabouts.

Once again, the good news is, you do not need to do anything, the change will be processed automatically and it should have no impact on your day to day activities.

However once again, should you have any queries or concerns in this regard, please do get in touch.

Commencing as of 15 December 2020, any CapitalQ Community Members who have companies attached to our old ASIC Agent registration will be moved to our new ASIC Agent entity, CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd as described above.

There is nothing you need to do, the change will be processed automatically, and will have no impact on your day to day activities.

Folks as many CapitalQ Community Members will already be aware, as of July/August 2020 we are in the process of fine tuning the behind the scenes structure of our Perth business (no doubt it is a process many of you will have experienced with your own businesses as part of restructures we have helped implement for you).

In practical day to day terms the changes have to date, and will continue to have, little to no impact on you, nor how our daily services are delivered.

And in particular, the good news is the changes do not affect the Clients of our new South West office.

Nevertheless, it is important we keep you all informed.

The primary change we are undertaking is that CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd (ACN: 641 970 514, ABN: 84 641 970 514) is now the company that holds our Perth ATO Tax Agent registration.

CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd will also soon hold our Perth Australian Securities and Investments Commission (“ASIC”) Agent registration.

This means that for our Perth Clients at some point over the course of the coming weeks and months –

• The ATO will transfer you and your entities from our old Agent entity (Dpm Consulting (Aust) Pty Ltd) to our new Agent entity (CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd),
• You will see CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd listed as the Tax Agent on your tax forms (including Income Tax Returns, Activities Statements and the like),
• You will see CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd listed as your Tax Agent in MyGov,
• You will see CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd listed as your ASIC Agent on your Annual Company Statements and any ASIC forms to be lodged.

We have already begun engaging with some of you regarding this change and in some cases have already begun implementation.  This has included updating our Engagement Letters to reflect the new entity as appropriate.

This process will continue over the course of the 2020/21 financial year as follows –

• All new Community Members (Clients) will sign Engagement Letters with CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd as of July 2020,
• As we meet with existing Community Members throughout the 2020/21 financial year, where convenient we will arrange signing of replacement Engagement Letters with CapitalQ Perth Pty Ltd,
• For any Community Members that have not signed a replacement Engagement Letter by the final quarter of the 2021 financial year, we will contact you to ensure a new one is executed by 30 June 2021,
• In the meantime, if a new Engagement Letter has not yet been executed, your existing one will remain in effect.

Again we are confident there will be very little day to day impact on you, and there should be little to no inconvenience caused, but we still appreciate your understanding, patience and assistance with this process.
