Client Services Assistant
Professional profile
I am a Client Service Assistant with over 15 years of administrative experience across various industries. My qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Business, majoring in E-Commerce from Edith Cowan University, my professional journey has been shaped by diverse roles and challenges. Most of my career has been spent in the not-for-profit sector, where I honed my skills in administrative coordination and facilitating process improvements.
In October 2023, I joined CapitalQ Business Advisers and Chartered Accountants, where I work closely with Kapil and his team to ensure smooth operations across a wide range of administrative functions. My responsibilities include setting up new entities such as companies, trusts, and Self Managed Super Funds (SMSFs), liaising with clients, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and (Australian Securities and Investments Commission) ASIC, amongst other tasks. The variety in my role keeps me engaged, and I take pride in assisting clients and the team at CapitalQ.
Before my time at CapitalQ, I enjoyed a career shift, working in several Australian government organisations, including the Australian Electoral Commission and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. I held various contract and casual roles, where I gained valuable insights into public sector operations before returning to full-time administrative work.
Personal profile
Originally from Sri Lanka, I moved with my parents and two younger siblings to Hong Kong where I lived and studied for around 8 years before relocating to Perth in 2006 to pursue a business degree as an international student. I am now an Australian citizen. My multicultural background and diverse experiences have shaped who I am today, both personally and professionally.
Outside of work I am a dedicated member of the Australian Defence Force Army Reserves and have been a Defence member since 2017.
Being a part of the Army Reserves has provided me valuable experiences and training opportunities, allowed me to be part of an amazing community of people dedicated to service, and has taken me to different parts of Australia on numerous Operations.
When not wearing my fatigues, I always strive to stay balanced and I do value my “me” time, whether it’s deciding on a movie or series to watch, tending to my plants, or heading out for a hike.
Having previously been a dedicated long-distance runner, I very much enjoy hiking, especially when the weather is cooler. Some of my most memorable hikes include Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, trekking along the Himalayan ranges near Everest Base Camp, and conquering Adam’s Peak in Sri Lanka. I look forward to more treks and traveling to new places when time permits.
Though I am actually working on getting back into running, aiming to regain my fitness and continue setting new personal goals including adding to my two half marathons and several mid-distance races.
