Professional profile

I have recently joined CapitalQ as of August 2022 and I am excited to get back into corporate life again.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and graduated from the California State University Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with an emphasis in International Relations (including a semester studying abroad in Germany).

My working career started in the Silicon Valley during the boom of the “dot com” era in the early 2000’s with a start-up company.  I then landed in incredible opportunity with Deloitte & Touche (one of the world wide ‘Big 4’ accounting firms) and worked on one of their major accounts as a Client Liaison.

A couple of years later I found myself in Perth, Western Australia and worked for Amcom (now Vocus) as well as The WA Business News as an Events Coordinator.

My passion for adventure and new experiences took me back to California where I returned to Deloitte working in each of the San Francisco and Orange County offices for several years where I provided coaching, training, and mentoring to new hires.  In this new role I found myself loving teaching and the onboarding process.

Just as luck would have it, with the US economy shifting, my position was downsized, and so I took this ‘shift’ and leveraged it as an opportunity to obtain my Master’s in Education from the University of Phoenix.  From there I began teaching young, inquisitive, developing minds (not too far off from new recruits straight out of Uni).

Having now returned to Perth in early 2022, I am very happy to be part of the forward-thinking team at CapitalQ, where teamwork, an outside the box approach and the latest innovation in accounting technology are used to support our Clients.

And I am very happy to call CapitalQ my new home.

Personal profile

Personally, I love to go walking & hiking, as well as participating in extreme sports such as jet skiing, water skiing, snowboarding, indoor rock climbing and my new favourite pastime, sand boarding in the dunes near Lancelin. I am hoping to go spelunking in the local caves in WA.  (I guess you can say I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie).

I’m most passionate about my children and watching them play sports, my son is a competitive swimmer and budding YouTube star, my daughter is an All-Star Softball player who has just made the Western Australian State Softball Team.

Collectively my family love to travel and exploring our new city of Perth and greater Western Australia.

I have dubbed myself an eccentric chef, food is definitely another passion, and this is how I show people that I love and care for them.  So if you ever get an offer to come over to mi casa to ‘break bread’ your taste buds are in for a tantalizing journey down a sweet then warm, spicey adventure 🙂

When I am not with my family, I love to go salsa dancing, venturing out to the local WA Wineries and I love thrift stores (it’s all about the hunt).
